Building Our Family: BTR’s 5th Annual All-Team Strategy Session

Just last month we concluded our fifth annual strategy session.  The all company meeting took place over three days in Tampa, Florida. During these meetings, all BTR team members come together to partake in team-building strategy sessions as well as fun activities. The purpose of this event is to not only bring together our BTR family but also encourage professional growth. This means a packed agenda of strategy-building presentations and workshops.

Kicking Off the Strategy-Packed Weekend

To begin with, we kicked off the event on Saturday, March 10th.  Our leadership team, from both the consulting and benefit administration divisions, took the lead. They provided updates on BTR’s latest initiatives as well as plans for future growth.  On Sunday, the leadership team continued strategy and growth discussions which resulted in a productive all day idea exchange.  Sunday night we welcomed the rest of the company for a meet and greet. It was a great opportunity for BTR team members to reunite face-to-face and get to know each other on a more personal level. As we continue to grow as a company, these all-team meetings also act as welcoming spaces for new additions to our BTR family.

Monday morning we kicked off the 5th annual strategy session early with our core values and mission presentation led by BTR President and CEO, Jamie Hawkins. We congratulated Debbie Peters during the Tampa event for an outstanding five years of service! Debbie was recognized with a plaque as a token for her service at BTR.   We continued the morning with a session on Employee Engagement led by our executive coach. As a remote company, employee engagement is an especially crucial investment. Because of this, cultivating employee engagement was a key agenda item for us to cover during this event. Following these presentations, we moved onto the division breakout sessions. These sessions, led by the leadership teams within each division, gave us a good opportunity to focus on their team’s needs and critical process improvements.

Letting Loose BTR Style

Of course, our all-team meetings are never all work and no play. Monday night we were very excited let our hair down and celebrate our 10 year Anniversary at Epicurean!  This celebration marked a significant achievement for BTR and we were excited to celebrate amongst colleagues, friends, and family! The notion of family is very important to us. Despite working remotely, each of our team members are valued members of our own corporate family. In this spirit, on Tuesday we kicked the day off with a fun team building activity which consisted of a scavenger hunt around downtown Tampa.  It was no easy scavenger hunt. We put our investigative team building skills to the test! We concluded the day with more strategy sessions per division along with assigned deliverables as takeaways before officially adjourning. Overall, this was another great strategy session in the books and we contribute our successes to these constant efforts of making strategy, team building and idea exchange the core of our company.
