BTR just got home from the BAN Winter Conference at the infamous Caesar’s Palace Hotel – and we can’t think of a better way to kick off 2020 than with a trip to Las Vegas. As always, the conference was jam-packed with breakout sessions and networking opportunities. It kicked off on Saturday, January 25 and wrapped up on Tuesday, January 28.
The “BTR Wolfpack” of Jamie Hawkins, Josh Hoover and Corrina Nation met with existing BAN agencies as well as with several guest agencies throughout the event to talk HR tech strategy. They co-presented at the general session Monday morning on “Hittin’ the Jackpot with HR Tech.”
The first half of the presentation covered the latest HR tech vendor updates, including the state of the benefits administration market. There has been (and will continue to be) a significant shift to private equity ownership with some prominent ben admin vendors. The implications of this are important for benefits advisors to understand for their clients. The other major component of the HR tech vendor updates was the announcement of BTR and Paylocity’s formal agreement – BTR is now an Elite partner through Paylocity’s Amplify program. Watch out for further details on how this will positively impact clients.
The second half of the show centered around two real life client case studies. Two representatives from partner agencies were invited on stage to talk through how they engaged BTR in the sales process and explain the impact leading with technology can have on the overall client experience. Hearing how each agency leveraged technology as a differentiator to either win a new client, or support an existing client resonated with the other attendees – and several audience members asked specific questions about the case studies.
We especially loved hearing from the dynamic keynote speaker, Richard Fagerlin. He wrote the book “Trustology” and spoke about how to build and repair trust in your relationships (spoiler alert: to rebuild trust, you have to be the one to take the first step)!
Beyond the presentation, it was great catching up with friends old and new. We will be looking forward to the Summer Conference in Salt Lake City!
